Team BIOS

Troy (mcmillantroy): Troy develops practice tests and study guides for Transcender while also working as a professional IT trainer. He has taught Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, and wireless classes for the past six years and is the author of Change Your Career: Computer Network Security as Your New Profession and co-author of VCP VMware Certified Professional on vSphere 4 Review Guide (Sybex). A former career changer himself, he has been a professional set musician for over three decades, sharing the stage with diverse acts from Vassar Clements to the Grateful Dead. For fun he runs marathons and follows Nascar (on television, not on foot).

Robin (rabernathy): I have been here just shy of forever. I help develop Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, ISC2, PMI, and EXIN tests and study guides. Standing under 5 feet tall, I am the shortest member of our team (but not by much!), which remote coworkers find hard to believe. For some reason, they picture me as a 6-foot female prison guard. I am an avid reader, reading anything that grabs my attention.

Josh (codeguru): Currently a content developer for Transcender and a Microsoft Certified trainer, Joshua has written, talked, taught, and breathed code for over fifteen years. After cutting his teeth on BASIC with a C64 while a small tyke, and pushing his website development on people throughout college, he has now evolved into the Java Structs, the Microsoft .NET 3.5 and 4.0 Frameworks, and other Web 2.0 technologies. And yes, he still enjoys a good game of Pong.

George (gmonsalvatge): George has developed content for the DSW Group, Ltd, Wave Technologies, NETg, KaplanIT and Thomson Learning over the past 18 years, including 7 years with Transcender. His certifications include MCSE, MCT, MCTIP (Server Administrator and Database Administrator), and several MCTS. He enjoys running, golfing, and football. Although some people claim that he is insane, he has documentation to prove otherwise.

Bob (orcltestguy): Our newest team member, Bob writes our Oracle test content and answers related questions from our customers. A former director, manager, and instructor with Oracle University, Bob comes to us with 15 years of Oracle technical training experience, including SQL, PL/SQL, DBA Admin, and Performance Tuning courses taught throughout North America and Asia. Prior to Oracle, he performed corporate training with McKesson Healthcare and Verizon Corporation, where he worked with a variety of operating systems, programming languages, and applications.  Bob also teaches college courses in mathematics. His hobbies include reading, movies, and travel.

Ann (ann1ang): Ann is the blog wrangler and all-purpose language editor. She fact-checks, double-checks, and edits practice tests and tutorials, manages the blog content, and studies for IT certifications on the side. She keeps a copy of The Transitive Vampire on her desk and refers to it weekly. Her goal is world disambiguation.

Aima (arotella): After a short stint as a journalist, I donned my geek’s hat at Big Blue, where I was a technical editor for the global announcements division. Five years ago I jumped ship and landed in Transcender’s welcoming arms. I’m officially the manager of our happy crew, but I do very little managing these days. My main focus is content QA in the production stage. I run the final system checks and then push our golden items out for general consumption. I love words, hate numbers, and have a handbag for every occasion.

Past Contributors

Jennifer (jenniferw1): I’m Jennifer and I’ve been in the practice test world for close to eternity. I’ve written way more practice questions than I care to admit. My product expertise and certifications are in PMI and Oracle, and I managed the Transcender Certification Preparation team until summer 2009, when I moved on to other projects within our company.

Jan (jjoneskit): With experience as a developer, systems analyst, DBA, IT manager, IT trainer, project manager, and content developer, my expertise and certifications cover Oracle, Microsoft, Sun, and PMI. I enjoy all outdoor activities, singing karaoke, and playing with my Golden Retriever, but keeping tabs on my teenage daughter keeps me busy in most of my spare time.
